What started as a day looking for waterfalls turned to rain and mission ‘see moose in the wild.’ 🤪
I work from home so I literally can become quite the hermit if I’m not careful.
That is, as much as I’m an extrovert, I enjoy the comfort that is known as home. That said 👉 I have lived in an unfamiliar place in Northern New Hampshire for about half a year now, and still miss my semi southern NH roots. So, leaving home is sometimes too much for me lately. 😢
That space of more southern ish NH was familiar. I was born there, raised there, and spent over 40 years there. Why in the world am I up here in the White Mointains area of NH?!
That is a story for another season in life, I imagine. I’m sure it will be a hindsight is 20/20 moment in the future. 🤭
I do love the Northern New Hampshire area though. I’m a sucker for camping, nature, wildlife, and doing anything I can barefoot. 🦶
Back to my original story … 👀
Today was an adventure that lasted maybe 2-5 hours and it was an adventure. So I love the rain. I love love love the rain 🌧️ but my other half is not a fan. He gives it like 0 starts to be out walking around in but he’s been a good sport mostly about it since he knows I do love rain.
He wasn’t interested in the hike I had planned due to the rain though, so I quickly thought of another idea. I kept hearing of this area in Northern NH where many locals were seeing moose. 🫎
I thought, it’s mostly driving which is opposite of what I originally wanted to do - hike - but it was still some time outside in between the driving parts.
We stopped at a few state park spaces and some water spots. He got some photos with his camera and I used my cell, even going live on Facebook and Instagram for a minute to practice being live on there.
It was at the first spot that I said, “I’m going to see a moose” and within 20 minutes or less?!
I saw a moose. Well, at first I thought it was some fake statue and then I’m like no, OmGOsh it’s a moose!🫎
I turned around, we got some photos, and then I pulled over ahead at a spot to catch my breath. Amazing experience!!
From there I was pumped and determined, so I kept driving more into Northern NH and my other half had a destination he wanted to revisit in mind, so that’s where I drove. 🚗
We just had so much fun, recreating a selfie we had of us from 2021 ish and then seeing 2 possibly 3 more moose in their natural habitats.
I mean, amazing. I kept expressing my gratitude to the moose for letting my goal dream come true and I just had to sit before driving home because my body was full of goosebumps and my heart was so full that I had tears. 🥹
I just realized today how much I love my life. Not for anything particular. I have over due bills, and what some call stressors but I love living. I am grateful for the experiences, and the lessons, and the seeds planted. 🪴
I hope I can somehow help others recognize little moments like seeing a moose or hearing a bird song are moments to be enJOYED fully in gratitude 🙏 Becasue no matter what stressors or bills over due or car issues you have or whatever else is going on … I don’t want you to punish yourself by not experience some little joyous moments within the chaos.
You deserve it. You deserve joy amidst the chaos. Much love. 🖤
